Our Season of Thanks and Stewardship
As a church family the holiday season is approaching and we begin the preparation for special services and taking the opportunity to reflect on our yearly progress as a congregation. It has been a busy year, with the sabbatical period, the return of our pastor 
to our church family, and many events that continue to enhance our spiritual growth. I am aware that in this season of the holiday that as we reflect on this year we begin to plan on implementing changes for the year 2010. I would ask that as we reflect that we take an opportunity to be enveloped in a spirit of gratitude for the wonderful gifts God has provided. Melody Beattie once said,
“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
I know that in our turbulent society and in our sometimes hectic lives we often do not take the time to reflect and just “be.” We often worry about things we cannot control, which can often lead to confusion and turmoil, but take solace in the words of Matthew 6:32-34 which states,
“Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs, and God will give you all you need from day to day if you live for God and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern. So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today. ”
Our stewardship drive for 2010 will begin this month. I ask each of you to prayerfully consider the significance of the fellowship and relationships you have with Wild Rose congregation. Please continue to support our efforts through your charitable gifts, as well as your time, energy and talents.
